Drinks with a View at Vertigo 42

WFD finally had the chance to visit Vertigo 42 recently and after such anticipation it certainly did not disappoint. We love restaurants and bars with a view of London, in fact it’s becoming a bit of a hobby of ours.

Upon entering Tower 42 you have to register at reception and give full contact details if you have not already made a reservation. Once we had been registered, we were given cards (to be used upon exiting at the end of the evening) and went to the only lift to venue. It felt a little like we were on the set of a James Bond movie. The wait for the lift was rather longer than expected, but we’ll put that down to our typical London level of impatience. The wait is definitely worth it though, upon arriving at the bar you can see why this is still a social hot spot in the city of London. The views are stunning and the service was superb. It does feel a little like an extended catwalk at times but it is certainly worth visiting.  Unfortunately we did not get a chance to eat but our drinks were rather nice, we had a champagne cocktail and a simple juice mixer, though to be honest one does get so distracted by the view and the general ambience that it’s difficult to recall how great the drinks really were (let’s just say they were not terrible!).

Perfect for:

  • Date night
  • Catch up with friends
