A Tour of Ghana With Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen

I was recently invited to try the menu at Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen in Pop Brixton and was thoroughly enamored with the food, the service and the cosy space! I had a lovely time trying food that, I although I have tasted before, was served to me in a new way with a variation of ingredients. I recommend that you book yourself a place at Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen and enjoy the food which is an authentic taste of Ghana. This is a 5 course meal designed to be enjoyed with friends, old and new, make sure you head down!

Our menu:

Why Every Food Lover Should Visit Copenhagen!

I recently spent an amazing weekend in Copenhagen, Denmark. Not only is it less than a 2 hour flight from London, it has affordable public transport, the city is clean (really clean) and the people are just so friendly!  It is one of the easiest city’s to get around too, with it’s bike friendly system and reliable metro service it is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of a big city like London.

There is so much to see and do and I can say for sure that you will not see everything you want to see in just a weekend which means you will have a great excuse to visit again. Although I visited during the winter months I would definitely recommend going, it was cold of course but if pack the right winter wardrobe you will still be able to enjoy the city. One of the highlights of the trip was the Free Copenhagen Walking tour which gives a great overview of the city landscape, it’s 3 hours long but definitely worth it and your tour guide will be great!

The Little Mermaid – I wasn’t disappointed by the fact that it’s small, it’s still very pretty against the backdrop of the sea.

Aside from plenty of sight seeing Copenhagen really is a great place for food lovers, aside from the variety of food available the quality is consistently good and you can get some great deals from some restaurants if you steer clear from the “tourist traps”.

If you like chocolate then Copenhagen is the place for you. Check out the chocolate department in Magasin du Nord, you’ll get treated to lots of free samples too!

We found a friendly pub at the top of strøget which served a generous portion of steak and chips for 149dkk. As you can see it was a juicy steak and I can definitely say that the quality of the meat was top notch regardless of the price, the chips were overcooked but I was still happy with my choice and what better drink to go with a steak than Carlsberg (you can’t go to Denmark and not drink the national beer).

Meat lover!

The best meal of the trip was at Oysters and Grill where I had an oyster to start and half a lobster as a main meal. It was one of the best lobsters I have ever had, fresh, juice and perfectly cooked! Again our chips were overcooked but perhaps that is a trend in Denmark, I didn’t have the opportunity to ask!

Another food lover’s destination in Copenhagen is the Copenhagen Street Food which boasts 39 food stalls from all over the world. It is based on Paper Island not far from The National Opera House and has a great vibe and great variety. I went for Korean street food and tried a dish called Bibimbap which contains vegetables, spicy sauce and rice and was delicious.  I also tried home made fried chicken and duck fat fried chips, the chips were great and the quality of the chicken was really good even though the batter wasn’t as tasty as I would have liked.
